Summary:
Natera is currently seeking an Associate Director to join our Bioinformatics Research Team with a focus on cancer early detection.
Natera s mission is to change the management of disease worldwide by using information gained from a simple blood draw to detect disease early and proactively inform treatment.
The individual will lead a team of Bioinformatics Scientists and will be responsible for the planning and execution of research projects related to early cancer detection.
The ideal candidate should be an experienced team leader and have a strong background in algorithm development, epigenetics, sequencing data processing, and/or machine learning.

Responsibilities:
Envision, plan, and execute research strategies in collaboration with other cross-functional stakeholdersDrive the development of innovative algorithms related to cancer early detectionLead a team of Bioinformatics Scientists and support their professional growthFoster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and scientific excellenceWork closely with molecular biologists and clinical scientists to solve challenging problemsContribute to experimental design and ensure data integrity and quality controlCommunicate findings clearly across all levels and functions of the company and act as a subject matter expertPresent results at conferences and publish in top-tier journals
Qualifications:
PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related fieldMinimum of 6-8 years of working in the bioinformatics field and extensive managerial and cross-functional experienceTrack-record of leading and developing state-of-the-art and highly impactful computational methodsHighly experienced in algorithm development, data analysis, and machine learningDeep understanding of sequencing dataExperience in PythonExperience using Linux command-line tools and writing shell scriptsAbility to visualize findings and summarize results in oral and written form for both technical and non-technical audiencesHigh scientific rigor and eager to teach and learn about new computational methods and biologyThe pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location.
This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
